Real Techniques Deep Cleansing Gel

Sunday, 4 October 2015
For the past year or so I've been using the Mac Brush Cleanser and I've never had a problem with it but when I was in Asda yesterday and seen Real Techniques' latest offering for only £5 I decided to give it a go!

You get 150ml in a tub which I thought was amazing value at first until I realised how much product you actually have to use to get desired effects. My first impressions was how thick and gooey the gel is and it instantly reminded me of the ultrasound gel we use at work (#nurseproblems). When cleaning your brushes you need quite a lot of product to get it to actually lather and I found myself swirling each brush for a good 2 minutes before they were actually clean.
My main gripe with the gel is the packaging and the drying time. It's really difficult to get the product out of the bottle, as soon as you stop squeezing the gel dissapears back into the tube and it takes ages to get a decent amount onto your hand. As for the drying time I washed my brushes at 10:30am and they're still drying now! Overall the gel did give my brushes a good cleanse but for someone as busy as I am it's just not practical for me to be spending over an hour cleaning my makeup brushes. In the future I will be spending thw extra £7 and sticking with my beloved Mac Brush Cleanser!
Has anyone else had problems with dispensing the gel?

  1. Ah that's no good! I used to swear by the Mac cleanser then I ran out on day and never replaced it! I just use baby shampoo at the moment xx
