Charlotte Tilbury Penelope Pink

Thursday, 29 December 2016
If you've read previous posts of mine you'll already known I'm a huge fan of Charlotte Tilbury and her lip products in particular. The K.I.S.S.I.N.G Lipstick in Penelope Pink is no exception. A beautiful peachy pink shade inspired by the beautiful Penelope Cruz it looks perfect with a natural day look or vamped up for the evening with a smokey eye.

Charlotte Tilbury Legendary Lashes

Thursday, 22 December 2016
Born on the red carpet, Charlotte Tilbury's new mascara promises to extend your lashes to 13x more volume in just three coats! I got a sample size of this little beauty in my World of Legendary Parties set that my Mam bought me as an advent calendar this year. As usual with any Tilbury product, the packaging is to die for. It looks super pretty sat on my vanity.

Slimming World Week 1

Wednesday, 30 November 2016
I've recenly become quite conscious of the amount of weight I've gained since meeting Iain 5 years ago and starting my nurse training 2 years ago. I feel a bit of a hypocrite trying to promote health in overs when I'm unhealthy myself. When I first started my nurse training I naively though to myself "Oh I'll loose weight I'll be running around all the time and only eating at meal times during my 13hr shifts". Oh how wrong I was. Being a nurse consists of grabbing chocolate when you can and big cups of sugary tea to keep you going. With the high chance of missing breaks I found myself falling into bad eating habits.

Headed to Berlin

Monday, 28 November 2016
Last month was mine and Iain's 5 year anniversary, I was majorly spoilt and he whisked me off for a 5* trip to Berlin! Berlin's been on my hit list for the past few years now, we spent the 3 days wandering the streets, chatting about the architecture and the incredible history of Berlin. We visited the East Side Gallery where there's 105 paintings painted by various artists representing hope for a better, and more free, future for the people of Germany. With a mixture of culture and nightlife you're never short of anything to do in Berlin...

Snow Fairy Body Conditioner

Saturday, 29 October 2016

Lush Snow Fairy Body Conditioner
I think Snow Fairy has got to be one the most popular Lush scents of all time. Last year I stocked up on my snow fairy stash to get me through them long lonely months when it’s not in stock. The candy floss scent whisks you away to the fairground and takes you back to sticky hands whilst munching away on candy floss. It's an all time favourite for me so you can imagine my excitement when I discovered it's now available in conditioner version. Dreams do come true.

The Little Book of Hygge

Monday, 17 October 2016
If you haven't come across the term 'Hygge' in the last month or so, well... where have you been?! The Little Book of Hygge* has been all over the Blogosphere lately! I'd also heard a lot about the book on a Scandi Interiors Group that I'm part of on Facebook so I was over the moon when I heard about the blog tour! Meik Wilking is the CEO of the Happiness Research Institution in Copenhagen and has spent years studying the magic of danish life. So what exactly is Hygge? (pronounced hoo-gah) Hygge in about the experience. Being at home, being with the people we love and feeling safe. Hygge can be anything from spending time with friends, sitting in silence with your loved one or sitting down to a book by yourself.

What I'm Watching Autumn 2016

Autumn TV
When people ask me what my favourite parts of Autumn are I've got to say one of them is the return of my favourite TV series. Is there anything better than cosying down of the evening with the candles and your blankets to watch a some good quality TV, I don't think so! My favourite way to watch telly at the moment is to hijack my parents TV and watch in Ultra HD TV Panasonic, the 4k television is incredible and far better than mine! I've been scouring Geek Town the past few weeks to find out when the return of some of my favourite shows are and looking out for some new finds to watch!

Duvets For The Perfect Autumnal Bedroom

Friday, 14 October 2016
I don't know about you but one of my favourite parts of Autumn is changing the decor around and getting the house autumn ready. I love popping on some new autumnal bedding and adding candles and throws to the bedroom, it makes them days spent lazing in bed with a book and a TV series even cosier! In this post I'm going to be rounding off my favourite Autumnal bed sets for you all.

Ole Henriksen Three Little Wonders

Monday, 10 October 2016
Back in August I was lucky enough to attend the Girl Gang Event and this little set was in my goody bag. Before this I'd never heard of Ole Henriksen but after a quick google I discovered they're a well loved brand with brilliant reviews. The three little wonders gift set is made up of the truth serum collagen booster, invigorating night treatment and the sheer transformation moisturiser. The combination of the three products work in unison to combat the signs of ageing, revealing radiant skin!

Hill Top and Beatrix Potter

Saturday, 1 October 2016
Hill Top Beatrix Potter
Anyone who knows me knows how much of a huge Beatrix Potter fan I am, I've loved her stories since I was a little girl and still thumb through the pages of my copies from time to time still now. I'm luck enough to live on the edge of The Lake District and I can be in Bowness within a 30 minute drive so I'm always popping up and lusting over all the Peter Rabbit merch up there!

Flux Period Subscription Box

Sunday, 25 September 2016
Flux period box
If you're a regular ready of my blog you'll probably know by now that I'm not the kind of person who's overly fussed with subscription boxes, I usually find I'm left with a load of samples piling up in my drawers that I'm never going to use. However, when the people from Flux got in touch asking if I would like to review one of their pad and tampon subscription boxes* I was immediately intrigued. I mean who really enjoys going out tampon shopping? I don't know about you mother nature will creep up on me and I'll open my drawer and my supplies have suddenly depleted and I'll find one measly tampon looking back at me, leaving me caught short.

Split Croatia Travel Guide

Thursday, 15 September 2016
Split Croatia Travel Guide
At the end of July I went on holiday to the stunning city of Split on the Dalmatian Coast with my boyfriend Iain. I first became aware of Split when I watched one of them travel/cooking shows one night, I instantly googled it, fell in love and told Iain that's where we're going this summer. Split is an excellent base for going off on daily excursions or to move around from, with a lot of people stopping by just for a few days we decided to stay for a full week to truly experience what the city had to offer!

Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist

Wednesday, 7 September 2016
Jurlique Rosewater Balancing Mist
Now this is one of them products I'd seen multiple posts about floating around the 'blogosphere' for the past few years now, despite this I had never picked one up! When I was lucky enough to attend the #GGevent a couple of weeks back I was over the moon to find one of these in my goody bag, needless to say I've been obsessed ever since! This lovely product is a daily hydrating face mist for normal/combination skin, it works to hydrate the skin with a rose scent that is divine. I love the sophisticated design of this product, it comes in a frosted glass bottle with a rose flower design on the front.

Reasons I Can't Wait For Autumn

Thursday, 1 September 2016
Seeming as it's the 1st of September I'm deeming socially acceptable to crack out the Autumn posts, a gal just can't wait! For as long as I can remember I've always loved September onwards. For me September has always marked new beginnings with the academic year starting, as well as this there's so much to look forward to, birthdays and holidays. Here's a list of reasons I just can't wait for Autumn:

La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ Unifant

Monday, 29 August 2016
La Roche-Posay Effaclar Duo+ Unifant
Is it a tinted moisturiser? Or is it a spot treatment? For me it's the ultimate hybrid. Last month the lovely team over at La-Roche Posay got in touch and asked if I'd be interested in trying out the new Effaclar Duo [+] Unifant*. Naturally I said yes I'm already a fan of the original effaclar duo. The Unifant is still part of the Effaclar range, working to target spots at every stage, from the under the skin inflammatory stage, to taking away the pigmentation in the redness to reduced scaring. You can read my original review here, I still love it just as much now as I did then!

Photo Diary | Furness Abbey

Sunday, 21 August 2016
Furness Abbey
I'm really quite ashamed to admit it, this gorgeous Abbey is just a 3 minute drive from my house and I haven't visited in around 10 years. Earlier this week me and my mam decided to go for a walk down so I grabbed my camera and off we went! Our local abbey was one of the richest monasteries in England, now standing at over 900 years old the site is maintained by English Heritage. Unfortunately there's had to be some conservation work carried out over the last few years and some of the larger buildings are now covered in scaffolding to help it from sinking into the soft ground.

Origins GinZing Peel-Off Mask Review

Origins GinZing Peel-Off Mask Review
If you've been a reader of my blog for sometime you'll most probably know I'm a huge fan of the Origins GinZing range, you can read me blabbing on about it here. Now when I seen this pop up on my Facebook feed I was instantly transported back to being 13 in Bodycare on a Saturday afternoon buying them cheap peel off face masks that were £1 each for you sleepover that night with your pals.
A refreshing face mask that works to smooth and refine your complexion made up of coffee beans to leave you feeling invigorated. My initial thoughts when applying was the smell, I'm sat here trying to sum it up and it's like if you mixed Glen's Vodka and a Terry's Chocolate Orange, lovely. The first time I used the mask was a total disaster, I was my usual frugal self and put a thin layer on, I soon found out you need to apply a rather generous layer to get anywhere with this mask otherwise you'll end up peeling the mask off in tiny pieces and spend all night hogging the bathroom.

Caudalie Divine Oil

Monday, 11 July 2016
Caudalie Divine Oil
I first picked up the Divine Oil back in 2012 when I went on holiday to Rome, since then I've repurchased numerous times. This really is an all time favourite of mine, this contains the grape seed extract that Caudalie are famous for. With a mixture of four different oils it provides you with a variety of different benefits.

The Blush Edit

Tuesday, 28 June 2016
My relationship with blusher has always been a little love/hate. When I was younger I used to paint the stuff on until I looked like a pot doll. Nowadays I find that it sometimes seems to accentuate my already chubby/round face and then other times I love it. Here is a round up of my favourite blushers at the moment.

Soap & Glory Sugarcrush

Monday, 20 June 2016
Soap & Glory Sugarcrush
Now I've been a big fan of Soap & Glory for years now, when I was 15 one christmas evidently no one knew what else to buy me and I ended up with enough box sets that actually lasted me 7 months. After my teenage years I haven't really been picking anything up from S&G recently until I seen people talking about the sugar crush range, anything lemon and lime is right up my street. I picked this trio up about 2 months ago now and I haven't been able to put it down!

Photo Diary | A Day In London (Camden & Highgate Cemetery)

Tuesday, 14 June 2016
At the end of last month me and Iain boarded the train, book in hand, ready to tackle the 5hr journey from the north down to London. Due to the heat and the weight of carrying a canon camera round your neck I decided to only take it out with me one day when we were going to Camden Market's and then onto Highgate Cemetery. Seeming as we're both big fans of Marx and his work we decided to go visit his grave and then go on to the Marx Library.

Father's Day Gift Guide

Wednesday, 8 June 2016
Along with Father's Day comes the usual "Don't spend your money on me, I don't need anything". We all know just how tricky dad's can be to shop for, now I don't know about you but I always end up buying my dad the same 3 things on a circuit for holidays/birthdays; whisky, socks and video games. Here's my round up of gifts that you can still pick up in time for Father's Day this Sunday!

Too Faced Sweet Peaches Palette

Thursday, 2 June 2016

The day this little beauty was released I spent 3 hours sat at my laptop refreshing the Debenhams page waiting for it to be released. In the end I finally gave up and went to Tesco to do some shopping. All of a sudden it was released and I had to stop to a stand still in the the aisle and frantically purchase mine, a few funny looks later and it was mine! Upon it's arrival the first thing I did was spend about 5 minutes sniffing, it really does smell just like sweet peaches *drools*

The Dolce Vita Box

Friday, 13 May 2016

If there's one thing that reminds me how quickly this years flying by it's the monthly arrival of My Little Box. Each month it feels like the last one has only just arrived and another lands onto my door step, not that I'm complaining mind... This month's My Little Box has been one of my favourite's so far, a sun-soaked tribute to all things Italian.

Palmers Natural Bronze Gradual Tanner Spray

Sunday, 8 May 2016
I've been a big fan of palmers cocoa butter for years now and when they released the gradual tan version I was quickly a huge fan. Now imagine my surprise in one of Zoella's vlogs the other week when I seen they've now released it in an easy apply spray format. I quickly made my way down to Asda and picked myself a bottle up!

Nyx Butter Gloss in Creme Brule & Eclair

Tuesday, 3 May 2016
Buttery soft and silky smooth our scrumptious new Butter Lip Gloss tastes as sweet as a sugar cookie and makes your lips look downright luscious - Nyx's description for their popular Butter Gloss products, I can't help but agree.

Max Factor Lipfinity

Tuesday, 26 April 2016
It's official, I'm in love with this lipstick. I first come across it a couple of months ago now when my friend put it on for me on a night out. It's the perfect addition to my ever growing nude collection.

To All The Boys I've Loved Before Series

Wednesday, 20 April 2016
It really didn't come as much of a surprise that I loved this series as much as I did, I read Jenny Han's The Summer I Turned Pretty Series a few years ago now and I loved it! Sometimes all I want from a book is a sweet innocent story that's easy to read, making me feel nostalgic about being a teen myself.

Sunday Snapshots #1

Sunday, 17 April 2016

I've always loved reading these weekly round up posts so I thought it was about time I started a weekly roundup of my insta pics on here. After all, anyone who knows me knows how addicted I am to Instagram!

8 Reasons I Love Spring

Monday, 21 March 2016
Spring is one of my favourite times of the year. I love waking up in the morning and it finally being light when I make my way to work in the early hours, flowers blossoming everywhere, the lambs start appearing in the fields in my house. Oh the list could go on...

March TBR

Monday, 14 March 2016
Another month and another pile of books that I plan to read (which I'll probably ignore and choose something else of my shelf). As you may have seen I'm taking part in the Goodreads Reading Challenge and tackling 30 books for this year, with starting a new placement and lots of assignments I'm currently only 3 books in *gulps*

New In From Pixi Makeup

Wednesday, 2 March 2016
When I was placing my order for some of my skincare essentials from Pixi the other week these little treats somehow managed to slip into my order also. Now, I'd never tried anything makeup wise from Pixi before but I'm thoroughly impressed!

February Favourites

Sunday, 28 February 2016
Queen of Shadows
And another month has flow in, I swear it feels like New Years was only like 2 weeks ago?! February has been good to me, I passed my 2nd year acute care exam and I've spent lots of time with my friends. As for March it's bringing the start of my new placement on the Intensive Care Unit which I'm ridiculously excited about. Here's a round up of my favourites this month.

10 Things To Do When You're Having A Bad Day

Wednesday, 24 February 2016
Sometimes life is just shit and there really isn't much you can do about it, we all have them days when we feel really down. As for myself I get them for no reason at all and I'll just wake up feeling really sad. Here I've complied a list of failsafe things to do to cheer you up and remind you life really is wonderful!

My Little Home Box

Sunday, 21 February 2016
Another month flies by and another delivery from My Little Box has arrived, I feel like I say this every month but this really has been my favourite box so far! To be totally honest I was expecting a valentines themed box this month and was pleasantly surprised when this little beauty arrived.

The Drugstore Edit

Wednesday, 17 February 2016
About a month ago now I decided to try out some new bits from Superdrug, now don't get me wrong I'm in no way a makeup 'snob' but I don't tend to pick up drug store products much. Here I'm doing a round up of my top picks that I found!

Charlotte Tilbury The Dolce Vita palette review

Sunday, 14 February 2016
Back in Novmeber last year I picked up the whole Dolce Vita look for myself in Selfridges, the main thing that attracted me to it was the eyeshadow palette. I'm a total sucker for anything orange/copper on my eyes. It truly is a thing of beauty.

My Little Wish Box

Wednesday, 10 February 2016
Sorry my January box is a little late this time! I changed my subscription and it only arrived 2 days ago. Yet again I'm really impressed with the mixture of beauty and lifestyle items in the box, all for a great value!

Flexitol Heel Balm & Heel Magic Review

Sunday, 7 February 2016
With Spring just around the corner it's time to start thinking about getting your feet sandal ready. My heels are really quite dry and cracked at the moment, the cold air and then running round for 13 hour shifts has wreaked havoc on my tootsies. When the people at Flexitol got in touch with me asking if I'd like to try out some of their products* I snapped up the chance!

Pixi Glow Mud Cleanser & Overnight Glow Serum

Thursday, 4 February 2016
Ever since I picked up the Pixi Glow Tonic a few months ago I've been itching to get my hands on some more products from Pixi! When I ran out of my Cleanse and Polish last week I thought I'd do a bit of research on Pixi's offerings for cleansers and see what I fancied.

The Blogger Journal

Sunday, 31 January 2016
For a while now I've been looking for somewhere I could keep track of my analytics and so on rather than in the back of a notepad, as well as something to just generally keep me a bit more organised. I noticed a few other bloggers put up posts about the blogger journal and I decided to buy it a couple of weeks ago now and I love it.

Charlotte's Magic Cream Review

Wednesday, 27 January 2016
I've previously discussed my love for Charlotte Tilbury products, she can't seem to do any wrong! Back when I bought The Dolce Vita look in November I got a free sample pot of 'Charlotte's Magic Cream'. I know the price is steep at £70 a jar but is it worth it?

What's in my bag?

Sunday, 24 January 2016
I don't know about you but I love what's in my bag posts, as a naturally nosey person it's great to see what hidden gems people have got scurried away in their bags. I'd just like to clarify that my bag was full of receipts, crumbs and some unidentifiable objects that I threw out in the process of doing this post just to make my pictures aesthetically pleasing. I am human I promise.

My Top 5 Scents

Wednesday, 20 January 2016
If there's one thing I really do love it's perfume. I'm that person who's guilty of dowsing herself with it every hour and walking round smelling like a tarts handbag. For me perfume is what finishes your outfit off! I guess I don't necessarily have a 'signature' scent but I do have a few perfumes that I always repurchase and people will associate with me.

Olivia Burton Rose Gold Big Dial Watch

Sunday, 10 January 2016
Olivia Burton Rose Gold Big Dial Watch
A couple of years ago now I decided to treat myself to a Michael Kors watch and I loved it, then I started seeing Olivia Burton watches pop up on my Instagram feed. As much as I loved my MK watch I felt it was a bit bulky and could look a bit like a mans watch. I was lucky enough for my cousins to buy me this watch for my 21st back in October and it's fair to say it was love at first sight.

Be A Morning Person

Wednesday, 6 January 2016
For many having a good morning means having a great day. For me I've always been a morning person, even when suffering with insomnia, it sets me up for the day ahead and any challenges it may throw at me. I love getting up whilst the sun is still rising and find it quite peaceful in knowing that everyone else is still sleeping, but most of all I love how much more I can get done in the day!

Sunday, 3 January 2016
Prague is one of the city's I could say is equally as beautiful as my trip to Paris was. The quaint cobbled streets and the buildings were breathtaking. Most importantly I had the best Indian meal I'd ever had in my life in Prague *sighs*

2016 Goals.

Friday, 1 January 2016
It's that time of the year again where we all make goals that will have inevitably slipped to the back of our minds in 2 weeks time... This year I'm making more specific goals that are within reach, this way I won't be left feeling deflated and not achieved anything from my list!
