Charlotte Tilbury The Dolce Vita palette review

Sunday, 14 February 2016
Back in Novmeber last year I picked up the whole Dolce Vita look for myself in Selfridges, the main thing that attracted me to it was the eyeshadow palette. I'm a total sucker for anything orange/copper on my eyes. It truly is a thing of beauty.
The quad is made up of four colours from L-R Prime (your base shade), Enhance (crease shade creating depth), Pop (brings out the centre of the eye) and Smoke (creating the smokey effect on outer lid and bottom lash lane). On Charlotte's tutorial on her website she shows you how to use the quad to create a day look and then putting on the pop colour to quickly swap to a night time look.
Consistency wise the 3 colours that aren't the glitter are a lovely buttery consistency and glide onto the lids super easily. I originally had a bit of bother with getting the glitter onto my eyes but I've found that spraying your brush with a bit of Mac's Fix+ and dabbing it into the pan it will go on quite nicely, alternatively using your finger is a good option. I'd heard online that colours were really pigmented and a primer wasn't necessary so I decided to test this out the other week, although the colours are really pigmented I did get some pretty bad creasing going on after around 3 hours so wouldn't recommend.
Overall I'm really impressed with the palette, gorgeous colours and easy to apply and blend with a good consistency. I have blue eyes and whenever I wear coppers they always get noticed! My only real gripe is the longevity, after around 4/5 hours it's starting to fade so lots of layers are needed if you're on a night out!

  1. These colours look gorgeous but I'm not sure coppery/orange shades suit me! I'll have to try some, and I really want to try some CT eyeshadows too!
