Slimming World Week 1

Wednesday, 30 November 2016
I've recenly become quite conscious of the amount of weight I've gained since meeting Iain 5 years ago and starting my nurse training 2 years ago. I feel a bit of a hypocrite trying to promote health in overs when I'm unhealthy myself. When I first started my nurse training I naively though to myself "Oh I'll loose weight I'll be running around all the time and only eating at meal times during my 13hr shifts". Oh how wrong I was. Being a nurse consists of grabbing chocolate when you can and big cups of sugary tea to keep you going. With the high chance of missing breaks I found myself falling into bad eating habits.
So last Tuesday (22/11/16) I decided to go on Join my local Slimming World Group. I've been to this group twice before with good results but life got in the way and I fell off the wagon. In my first week I spent most the time getting used to the plan again and with my head in the book! I tried out some amazing recipes such as beef stroganoff, salt and pepper chips, chilli and my new favourite baked oats *yummy*.

I stuck to the plan all week and then Saturday came around. I ended up going to the local Dickensian Festival, a couple of mulled wine/ciders, pints or larger, baileys and a stone baked pizza later I felt awful. I put it behind me and got straight back on track Sunday morning. As you can imagine I was surprised when I got weighed at class and I'd managed to lose 6lbs! I've put in a mini target for this week of 3lbs, that half a stone certificate will be mine!
Total Weight Loss: 6lbs

  1. Congratulations such a good amount of weight in your first week. It's amazing what changing up your diet can do for the better. I did that in October and within the month lost 14lbs so it's doable and now I'm steady losing 1.5lb & 2lbs weekly x

  3. I don't know how Slimming World works but I do know that in other diets you are allowed one day when you can eat what you want (not in excess, of course). I guess that's why you still lost weight even with drinking a few beers and having pizza. :)

  5. Well done on the weight loss! Everything here looks so good! I'm always envious of people who do slimming world, but I find that nothing works quite as well as healthy eating and a regular workout routine for me. I really wish it did though because those fries look A-MAZING!
