My Travel Bucket List

Wednesday, 25 January 2017
What better way to spend these rainy January days than sitting down and planning out a travel bucket list? When the lovely people from Planet Cruise got in touch and asked if I'd be interested in working together on this post of course I agreed! Below I've rounded up a few of the places that are top of my bucket list.
Copenhagen
Officially the worlds happiest place to live. It's become well known over the past decade for it's incredible taste in furniture, design, food and just about everything. The cities architecture is simply stunning, with canals running through and historical castles there's always something to catch your eye. With numerous beer bars cropping up around the city with the own breweries and innovative cocktails it you'll always have something to do. I'm hoping to spend a long weekend here late August.
Finland - Lapland
Getting to see The Northern Lights is an ultimate dream of mine and I think the best way to see them would be a visit to the Kakslauttanen Arctic Resort. The glass igloos are specially designed so that they won't steam up or frost over. With 5 restaurants on site and activities such as overnight husky treks, gold panning and on site saunas it looks idilic. I've been pricing this up for mine and Iain's anniversary later this year and it's looking around £1300 all in for 2 nights, so be warned the prices are steep.
Reykjavik
Another place that seems to be quite popular at the moment is the charming city of Reykjavik. The colourful buildings seem so inviting and I'd love to wander round and experience the nightlife, apparently the nightclubs are jammed packed and open until early hours. With gardens, museums, theatres and public gardens there's always something to do. The main attraction to Reykjavik for me is the hourly transfers that run to Icelands famous Blue Lagoon.
Bali
I watched a travel documentary on Bali once and the one thing that's always stuck in my head is how genuinely love the locals seem. Along with this there's the gorgeous beaches, and the traditional music and dance that takes place island-wide. With rich culture and beautiful beaches I'd love to go on holiday hear and fully immerse myself, I think it'd be the ideal trip for after I finish up uni in July. After doing some research online I'm gravitating towards staying in the Kuta area, amazing nightlife and water activities on the beach. Sounds a dream.

  13. If I'm honest I'd love to go to all the places you mention - and some! But that's the beauty with travel....they'll always be somewhere new to explore - especially on some of the smaller cruises which take you right into the smaller ports!
